interactive audiovisual installation based on light-controlled performance. Light sensors receive optical signals and convert them into MIDI messages to trigger sound. The captured sound parameters are then used to generate and transform the visual images on screen.
With this self-designed light controller, the performer plays music through light, producing fragmented notes and “broken” timbres that escape the fixed and programmed structure of traditional musical works.
The timbres created by the custom-built synthesizer function like the “blood” of the visual part of the installation—sometimes flowing quietly like a small stream, sometimes crashing violently like water hitting rocks, suddenly turning wild, intense, and eruptive.
